Job Description

Research Accounts Assistant Unijobs on behalf of our client, UCD are currently recruiting for a Research Accounts Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support by carrying out various tasks and functions, including those of a financial nature, within the Research Finance Office. Duties will include, preparation of journal adjustments; periodic reconciliation of bank account; checking residual budgets on project accounts when processing pay costs; maintenance of files. Liaising with academic and support staff and representatives from external agencies in person and in writing will form a significant part of the role. The salary scale for this position is €30,214 - €46, 450 per annum and the contract duration is 6 months initially. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Ensuring eligibility of staff costs on research awards Dealing with researchers' general queries on research accounts Maintaining project account files, including archiving of closed files Issuing research invoices in accordance with the terms and conditions of the funding agency and in line with university policy and procedure Liaising with academic and support staff and representatives from external agencies Preparation of journals for posting to the university's accounting system Providing administrative support to auditors, including assisting in the preparation of audit files Correct allocation of income to research accounts Receiving visitors to the office and assisting them with their queries Generating supplier orders for the office using electronic procurement Any other duties as specified from time to time by Line Manager Mandatory Criteria Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organisational and administrative skills Proven ability to work accurately under pressure to meet exacting deadlines Aptitude for figures and attention to detail Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Proven ability to problem-solve Computer literacy in a Microsoft Windows environment with good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access Flexible approach to work Desirable Criteria Knowledge and experience of funded research Previous experience of implementing and adapting to change Practical experience of accounting/bookkeeping Knowledge of the university's primary financial systems, including eFinancials, eProcurement, CorePay and Infoview Unijobs is an equal opportunities employer Skills: Communication Attention to detail IT Skills Finance
