A Research Engineer/Scientist to Shape Cancer Treatment
At Luminate Medical, we develop technologies to improve cancer care. Our first two products, Lily and Lilac, are wearable devices addressing hair loss and peripheral neuropathy, two common side effects of cancer treatment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Investigate, test, and solve technical questions at the frontier of engineering and healthcare to improve product development
* Use scientific and engineering principles to address deeply technical questions
* Collaborate with the R&D team to root cause technical issues and propose solutions
* Develop prototype testing methods to assess accuracy, repeatability, and reliability of devices
* Use predictive engineering tools to assess impact of alternative designs and parameters on end products
* Carry out comparative analysis on multiple designs and testing techniques

**Experience Requirements:**
* 9+ years of experience in research and development, preferably in medical devices
* PhD in science or engineering
* Published research
* Experience using predictive engineering tools, FEA, and/or CFD
* Test method development with analysis of measurement error, method verification & validation
* Statistical analysis of test results for mechanical and electrical signals for normal and non-normal data
**Advantages:**
* Previous experience working on the design of a new product that received medical device regulatory approval
* Proficient in CAD
* Experience testing and analysing pneumatics and/or fluidic systems
* Experience testing wearable electromechanical products
* Computational modelling experience for biological, physiological or pharmacological systems
* Experience in Matlab, Python & C++
