Job Description

The Grand Canal Hotel is seeking an experienced Reservations Agent to join our friendly and enthusiastic front office team.

Full time position available.

The successful candidate will work within the reservations team to ensure the smooth running of the department.


REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of one year experience in a hotel reservations or reception department Experience working with Guestline and ability to input individual as well as a basic knowledge of group reservations Perfect written and spoken English Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong negotiation skills Attention to detail Friendly, highly motivated and a team player Customer focused Your responsibilities will include the following; Present friendly and professional manners at all times Ensure all reservation inquiries including any special requests are answered as per hotel standards Maximizing revenue by converting each call to sale, up-selling and cross selling Understand and assist with achieving the hotel's revenue targets.


Work with the management team to ensure all reservations both individual and group are correctly inputted to eliminate no shows and cancellations Adhere to company internal policies.


Operational Responsibilities To ensure all individual and group reservations are accepted, recorded and confirmed in accordance with hotel policy and in an efficient and courteous manner.


To be responsible for the reservation inquiries inbox, responding to all guest's in a business-like, friendly, efficient and appropriate manner.


To balance rooms in Guestline on daily basis To ensure that all account to company bills have the relevant backup.


To liaise with reception in sorting out any queries from guest billing To ensure all credit card charges are made correctly To follow hotel cash handling policies.

The successful candidate will be friendly, customer focused and enjoy dealing with the general public.

They will have a courteous approach towards guests, and should enjoy working in a busy and fast paced environment.
