Job Description

We have potential career opportunities in our Transport Sector for a Resident Engineers & Senior Resident Engineers to manage and supervise large transport infrastructure projects across Ireland. About the Role: The duties of the roles shall include, but not be limited to: Site Supervision of large transport infrastructure projects. Liaison between Employers Representative (ER) /contractor and client. Quality Control, to ensure works are carried out in accordance with Contract Specification and Design drawings, and to ensure: The integrity of existing services. Materials used are to specification and per design. Appropriate placement of materials. Adequate backfill and compaction. Testing is in accordance with the specification and reporting of non-compliances. The setting-out of the works. Changes as they arise on site are notified to the ER, including liaising with relevant client technical staff to ensure the changes are not detrimental to client assets. Checking that all Traffic Management Plans and phasing of Construction Works, are as agreed with client Traffic Section and in accordance with Chapter 8 of the current Traffic Signs Manual, ensuring safe accommodation of vehicular and pedestrian movements through the works. To ensure compliance with the conditions as set out in the relevant licenses for the works. Monitoring progress on site relative to Construction programme. Key Skills/Attributes: The applicant must be a Chartered Engineer. The applicant must have good Project Management experience. The applicant must have at least 7 years relevant experience in the design and supervision of traffic / road / drainage related schemes. The applicant must be familiar with the various forms of ‘Conditions of Contract.’ Experience in the contract administration of Public Works Contracts is essential. The applicant must have a good understanding of applying the current legislation relating to Safety & Health on construction sites. The applicant must have experience in site administration and agreeing payments to Contractors. Hold a full Irish/EU Driving License. Hold a valid current SAFEPASS card.
