Job Description
As a Resource Adequacy & Resilience Specialist, analyze and develop models to assess the adequacy of power systems, identify areas for improvement, and develop recommendations for decarbonization in the Middle East, US, and other countries. Key Responsibilities:
- Source and prepare datasets for resource adequacy and resilience models
- Build and extend models to analyze power system adequacy and resilience
- Conduct analyses to address research questions around electric sector, interconnection, and economy-wide decarbonization
- Present research findings to various audiences through reports, briefings, and slide decks
- Advanced degree in electrical engineering, operations research, energy resources, economics, computer science, or related field
- Experience in building and running energy sector simulation or optimization models
- Experience conducting analyses to answer policy, regulatory, market, and/or technology research questions
- Proficiency in high-level modeling systems such as Python, Plexos, GAMS, AMPL, Matlab, R, or similar educational experience
- Excellent research and writing skills, strong oral communication skills, and ability to present complex information clearly
