Job Description

Excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a multinational software business in Dublin City Centre as a Revenue Controller responsible for the revenue accounting function of the company.


The role will be responsible for the revenue, billing operations, and accounts receivable teams and functions for the global company.

As the successful applicant you will be business partner and build relationships across various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Head of billing for the global company ensuring that the team prepares all invoices timely and accurately
  • In charge of the revenue accounting close process, including reviewing journal entries prepared by the revenue team, balance sheet recs for deferred revenue, US GAAP adjustments, bad debt/allowance review, and detailed revenue account analyses/reconciliations.
  • Responsible for presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue results and KPIs to the senior leadership team.
  • Monthly review of the company's sales commissions calculations
  • Main point of contact within the Finance group between internal parties such as Legal, Sales, and Operations teams to resolve issues, work through new product revenue recognition, and new contract reviews.
  • Preparing/review technical accounting memos for revenue. Including mending/maintaining current revenue accounting policies.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Design, implement, and monitor effective internal controls around the revenue process and robust contract to billing framework to track and verify all revenue and direct costs.
  • Develop, train, and mentor the revenue team.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA/CPA qualified accountant with 7+ years PQE
  • Extensive experience in revenue accounting with exposure to US accounting standard ASC606, knowledge of software license and subscription services preferred
  • Experience in lease accounting and has had exposure to US accounting standard ASC 84
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fastpaced environment and meet critical business deadlines.
