The RoleThe Sustainable Energy BU has identified the need for a highly motivated Applications Engineer to support product design wins and develop and support battery management system solutions for energy storage systems. The Applications Engineer will collaborate closely with customers and others to develop system solutions for the application and is a critical contributor in winning business and accelerating revenue. This role has a special focus on wireless BESS solutions regarding RF transceivers, pack development & test, performance and power analysis at system level and enhancing system reliability. Ability to transfer this knowledge and data to key customers in a structured reporting framework.Develop your technical expertise such that you are considered by colleagues and customers as a BESS applications expert. Work closely with your customers to clearly understand the key challenges to be solved. Translate the customer problem statements into system solutions. Think expansively and use a wide lens when solving problems. There is a high level of freedom with this role to be innovative. Identify emerging technology trends and translate these into product proposals that drive the development of ADI’s business and technology roadmaps.Support your customers and sales colleagues through the entire solution development process, from ideation, proof of concept, validation, and production. Provide the definition, system level hardware, software development and supporting collateral as required. Work with marketing on strategy planning and customer engagement. Create reference designs and platforms aligned to strategic applications. Clearly communicate to internal and external stakeholders including customers, partners, team members, and collaborating ADI teams. Build and share technical and application expertise across ADI’s systems applications teams.RequirementsMust Haves:A BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar qualification with 8+ years of applications experience or an MSEE with 6+ years of applications experience.Solid knowledge of broad RF, Zigbee, RSSI, system optimization, and system test related to RF performance. Ability to maximize system performance for key BESS applications.Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in capturing, interpreting, and presenting data, both in-person and through written technical reports.Proficiency in electronic circuit design, particularly at PCB level, with a background of hands-on technical applications work.Demonstrated team player with great communication skills.Highly Desirable:Experience with battery management systems (BMS) covering cell and pack measurement, power management, communications and processing, control, and battery state algorithms.Proficiency in electronic circuit design with experience in analog, microcontrollers and writing embedded code.Experience in articulating and presenting concepts to customers, uncovering their needs, and delivering solutions.Desirable:Working knowledge of at least one of cybersecurity, software, and functional safety.Enjoy working in a dynamic environment in fast-growing markets, and openly embrace working with others, including across groups, and actively seek to do so.Available to travel for customer and partner meetings as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
