Job Description

Seeking highly motivated Applications Engineer to support product design wins and develop battery management system solutions for energy storage systems.

The Sustainable Energy BU has identified the need for a skilled professional to collaborate closely with customers and others to develop system solutions for various applications. This role requires a strong understanding of wireless BESS solutions, RF transceivers, pack development & test, performance and power analysis at system level, and enhancing system reliability. The ideal candidate will be able to transfer knowledge and data to key customers in a structured reporting framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing technical expertise in BESS applications and system solutions
  • Collaborating with customers to understand key challenges and translate problem statements into system solutions
  • Thinking expansively and using a wide lens when solving problems
  • Identifying emerging technology trends and translating them into product proposals
  • Supporting customers and sales colleagues through the entire solution development process
  • Providing definition, system level hardware, software development, and supporting collateral as required
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Building and sharing technical and application expertise across ADI's systems applications teams

Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar qualification with 8+ years of applications experience or an MSEE with 6+ years of applications experience
  • Solid knowledge of broad RF, Zigbee, RSSI, system optimization, and system test related to RF performance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in capturing, interpreting, and presenting data
  • Proficiency in electronic circuit design, particularly at PCB level, with a background of hands-on technical applications work
  • Demonstrated team player with great communication skills

Highly desirable skills include:

  • Experience with battery management systems (BMS) covering cell and pack measurement, power management, communications and processing, control, and battery state algorithms
  • Proficiency in electronic circuit design with experience in analog, microcontrollers, and writing embedded code
  • Experience in articulating and presenting concepts to customers, uncovering their needs, and delivering solutions

Desirable skills include:

  • Working knowledge of at least one of cybersecurity, software, and functional safety
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with others
  • Availability to travel for customer and partner meetings as required
