Sales Engineer - Ireland - Start a journey of endless opportunitiesThe role:Do you have a passion for technology and sales? Do you excel in building relationships and closing deals? If so, we have the right job for you!As a Sales Engineer you will help establish Leybold, part of the Atlas Copco Group as the core supplier of innovative vacuum products and services in Republic of Ireland. Through the effective management of direct and indirect accounts in the industrial (IV) and scientific vacuum (SV) industries you will be responsible for driving revenue, profitability and growth targets for your territory. The SV accounts are predominately in the Universities, Institutes and key accounts within the field of Research & Development in the Scientific Vacuum applications sector, whilst the IV accounts are predominately in industrial, food and beverage applications. For all products sold you are also looking after the aftermarket requirements of the customer to make sure their products are serviced according to the customers' needs.Reporting into the Business Line Manager – SV, based in the UK, you will be empowered to make a difference whilst also given the support and opportunity to develop your skills. We are flexible on location as the role will be homebased with frequent travel to customers - although ideally you will be based towards the Dublin area and be able to commute to our offices in Wexford when needed.Responsibilities include:Create and implement innovative initiatives that will champion the delivery of sales targets towards the Leybold Customer Centre business strategyAchieve sales targets, orders, profitability and growth targets for the territoryDeliver excellent customer service by being the first point of contact for all technical queries on vacuum products as well as offering relevant and timely vacuum solutionsProvide efficient technical support to customers and answering any queries as and when they ariseAnalyze market requirements and competitor activities to ensure we continue to succeedBuild strong customer relationships in order to drive growth within universities and other marketsDevelop key relationships with potential and existing customers in order to influence investments and their decision making in purchasing vacuum productsIdentify and secure new business opportunities within the account portfolio/territory, through first class account managementConduct engaging and targeted presentations for customersParticipate at exhibitions in order to develop relationships with potential customersDevelop potential customers in collaboration with marketing, other sales departments and ServiceMonitor order intake and margin for the assigned customers and region to ensure business flow and that success is being achievedWhat we expect from you:Advanced certificate in a science or engineering related subjectGood understanding of vacuum science and the industrial sectorSignificant system, product and applications expertise, particularly within industrial application sectors and productsAbility to drive customer success by demonstrating a genuine interest in accurately understanding and acting on customer needs and expectationsAbility to improve business results by using knowledge and trends to provide direction to new and existing sales opportunitiesAbility to work as part of a team in the execution of an account or territory strategyGood commercial awarenessDemonstrates sales drive and adaptability (able to relate to clients / prospects)Ability to influence and engage with others in pursuit of business opportunitiesAbility to create problem resolution plans and drive to conclusionBachelor university degree (L7) preferable but not essentialBasic knowledge in SAP and CRM systemsGood knowledge in MS Office applicationsStrong knowledge of vacuum science and applications in R&DStrong direct selling experience and negotiation skillsWhat you can expect from us?Interesting work – no two days will be the sameA friendly, family-like atmosphere with a great team of peoplePlenty of opportunities to grow and developA culture known for respectful interaction, ethical behaviour and integrityPotential to see your ideas realized and to make an impactNew challenges and new things to learn every dayAccess to global job opportunities, as part of the Atlas Copco GroupAn excellent remuneration & benefits packageFlexibilityA workplace for everyone – at Leybold we know that diversity and inclusion help us understand our customers' needs and strengthen employee motivation, productivity, innovation and results.About LeyboldThe history of Leybold spans a period of over 170 years.
