Job Description

Seeking a Sales Assistant to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain a well-stocked and visually appealing department, and support smooth coordination between deliveries and the shop floor.

As a Sales Assistant in our Seasonal and Homeware department, you will be responsible for assisting customers with product inquiries, ensuring a welcoming shopping environment, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Key responsibilities include selling a wide range of products, providing product knowledge, and staying informed about new products, brands, and industry trends.

Essential competencies include effective teamwork, excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills, strong communication skills, and flexibility and willingness to learn.

Key relationships include branch colleagues, branch manager, regional director, head office team, sales representative, customers, and suppliers.

  • Previous experience with seasonal products.
  • A keen eye for seasonal trends and an interest in curating season-specific products is highly desirable.
  • Sales experience selling a broad range of products.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Manual Handling certificate desired.
  • Selling a wide range of products and providing product knowledge.
  • Stay informed about new products, brands, and industry trends.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
  • Receive and check off deliveries to the warehouse, ensuring secure, correct, and timely storage in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Understand customer needs and generate creative ideas and solutions that fulfill their requirements.
  • Safeguard against theft of goods or company property by being security conscious at all times.
  • Resolve customer issues pre-sales and post-sale in a timely fashion.
  • Produce accurate quotations.
  • Achieve defined sales and margin targets.
  • Create brand loyalty and maintain relationships with existing customers.
  • Effective teamwork.
