Job Description

Job Summary: We seek an experienced manager to lead our Cork Services, working with adults with intellectual disability and autism to support inclusive community membership.

The Role: As a Sector Manager, you will provide dynamic leadership and management to our Cork services, fostering a team-based approach and ensuring the interests of our supported members remain central to our delivery and development of services. You will plan and develop services in collaboration with other teams, and manage several Area Managers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and Management: Provide dynamic and progressive programme leadership and management to our Cork services, maintaining and further developing services in the assigned sector.
  • Team Development: Foster a team-based approach that includes our supported members, their networks, staff, and the broader community.
  • Service Planning: Plan and develop services in collaboration with other teams, implementing our Strategic Plan.
  • People Management: Manage several Area Managers and be accountable to the Director of Services.

Requirements: To be successful, you will have:

  • Professional Qualifications: Be professionally qualified and maintain current registration with a relevant professional body.
  • Management Experience: Have a minimum 10 years post-qualification experience, ideally 5 years at senior management level.
  • Leadership Skills: Possess excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with up-to-date knowledge of current thinking and practice in services for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Policy Knowledge: Have a good understanding of current policy and developments in the intellectual disability field.
  • Organisational Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of our organisation's strategic aim to provide for the equal Human Rights of each individual supported by our services.

Accountability: You will be accountable to the Director of Services Southern Region or such other authorised person as the Employing Authority may designate.

Benefits: You will receive 30 days annual leave and a salary scale of Grade VIII, €79,847-€96,305 (7 Point Scale).
