Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled Security Architect to design, implement, and oversee security systems and solutions to protect IT infrastructure.

The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure systems and data are secure, scalable, and compliant with industry regulations.

This is a daily rate contract position based in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Design: Develop and implement security architectures and frameworks to protect systems, networks, and data across the organization.
  • Security Policies & Standards: Define and establish security policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Incident Response: Support and lead security incident response efforts, ensuring quick resolution and proper documentation of incidents.
  • Cloud & Hybrid Environments: Design security solutions for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, infrastructure, and IT teams to embed security into all stages of the system development lifecycle.
  • Compliance: Ensure all security systems comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring data protection and security integrity.
  • Security Monitoring: Oversee the implementation and optimization of monitoring systems for detecting and responding to security threats.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide technical leadership and support to stakeholders and teams across the business, ensuring security considerations are part of all strategic initiatives.
  • Emerging Threats: Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and recommend improvements to current practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience in a Security Architect or similar role, with a strong background in IT security.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in security frameworks and tools such as NIST, CIS, OWASP, and experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
  • Cloud Expertise: Strong understanding of security in cloud environments, including cloud security architectures and native security services.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Knowledge of security and data protection regulations such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS.
  • Certifications: Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or SABSA are highly desirable.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security environments and propose practical solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Experience managing and delivering security projects, including budgeting, timelines, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and shifting requirements.
