Job Description

A global Financial Services company in Dublin seeks an experienced Security Engineer to ensure the organisation's security requirements and designs are efficiently managed and maintained. The role involves providing expertise in security engineering, solution security, and security tool administration, as well as collaborating with development and engineering teams to improve and simplify the delivery and use of security tools and services. The ideal candidate will have a University degree in Computer Science or related field and minimum 5 years relevant experience in IT security, including direct experience within a Security Engineer role. Key skills required include tackling complex problems, strong ability to research and understand new technical areas, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate information security-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. The Security Engineer will work closely with the Security Engineering department and report directly to the Security Engineering Manager. The role will involve creating and maintaining security technical engineering standards, completing Low Level Designs and other relevant artefacts, and contributing to technology roadmaps and product evaluation. The Security Engineer will also provide consultancy and guidance to stakeholders and promote security engineering practices within the organisation. The role involves a secondary responsibility to support or contribute to: on call support for out of hours escalation, weekly review of all security operation related tasks, and supporting SOC perform forensic investigation and malware analysis as needed. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols, as well as hands on experience of scripting and automation tools, Python, Ruby, Go, Groovy or equivalent, Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems, and Agile ways of working, tools and techniques.
