Senior Practice Accountant required for well-established Chartered Accountants in Galway city, playing a pivotal role in managing and overseeing a broad range of accounting and financial services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accounting: Prepare, analyse, and present financial reports for clients, provide strategic financial advice to support business decision-making, and develop budgeting and forecasting models to aid client financial planning.
- Auditing: Lead and manage audit engagements for a variety of clients, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements, identifying and addressing areas of risk, and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Insolvency: Manage insolvency cases, including members voluntary liquidations, creditors voluntary liquidations, and strike offs, liaising with creditors, debtors, and legal representatives, and developing and implementing strategies for asset recovery and distribution.
- Tax and Tax Compliance: Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, providing tax planning advice, and identifying opportunities for tax efficiency.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing client queries, and providing timely, accurate advice, conducting client meetings and presentations as needed.
- Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and development opportunities for team members.
Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CPA)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a practice environment
- Extensive experience in Accounting, Auditing, Insolvency, Tax, and Tax Compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
