We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to our ongoing success.


Job Summary:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial insights specific to the hospitality sector.


You will work closely with the Finance Director to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls while leveraging your industry-specific knowledge to drive financial performance.


Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and improve financial performance.

Ensure accuracy and compliance with Irish accounting standards and hospitality industry regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.

Analyze variances between budgeted and actual performance, providing insights and recommendations.

Internal Controls and Compliance:
Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.

Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, tax laws, and industry-specific financial practices.

Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.

Operational Finance:
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

Manage cash flow and liquidity, optimizing working capital.

Hospitality Industry Expertise:
Apply your knowledge of the Irish hospitality sector to address industry-specific financial challenges and opportunities.

Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.

Team Leadership and Development:
Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

Provide training and support to ensure professional development and adherence to best practices.

Strategic Initiatives:
Participate in strategic planning and provide financial insights to support business growth and development.

Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in the hospitality industry in Ireland.


Skills:
Strong knowledge of Irish accounting standards and hospitality industry financial practices.

Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems (e.g., Sage, Quick Books).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Proven leadership and team management experience.

Desirable Attributes:
Experience with financial planning and analysis in a multi-location or large-scale hospitality environment.

Familiarity with industry-specific financial metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
