Our client, a Public Service body, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their Senior Management team on a contract basis. The role will report to the Financial Controller, and be responsible for the management of a small team. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Provide financial, strategic and operational support and advice to the Financial Controller and other members of the team, including: Financial, statutory and management reporting in relation to expenditure and Income, Accruals and Prepayments Providing financial reporting and analysis to Directorate Senior Management teams, including analysis of monthly performance To ensure there is a better understanding of the drivers of costs and their movement over the long term - this will allow better forecasting of future costs and improved support for services Play a lead role in engaging with Service colleagues on all matters of financial performance Development of Financial Performance Reporting and analysis / commentary including linkage of activity levels to Financial Reporting Work closely with senior colleagues in a number of key performance processes, including Estimates, Service planning and Budget Allocation Development and utilisation of forecasting models Managing business as usual within the Finance Division on a day to day basis providing general input to Value for money review Communicate effectively with all internal/external stakeholders Any other appropriate duties as may be determined by the Financial Controller or Head of Finance from time to time Support budget holders in the stewardship of their financial allocations Promote and ensure compliance with Financial Regulations, HR policies and procedures, GDPR regulations and Health & Safety regulations If you are interested in the above or any other finance roles, please contact Yvonne Rafter Ph: or e-mail: Skills: 'budgets' 'analysis' 'reporting'
