Senior Accountant Contract

A Public Service body is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Senior Management team on a contract basis.

About the Role

• Provide financial, strategic and operational support and advice to the Financial Controller and other team members.
• Manage a small team and provide financial reporting and analysis to Directorate Senior Management teams.
• Develop and utilize forecasting models to improve forecasting of future costs and support services.
• Work closely with senior colleagues on key performance processes, including Estimates, Service planning and Budget Allocation.
• Manage "business as usual" within the Finance Division and provide general input to Value for money review.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support budget holders in the stewardship of their financial allocations.
• Promote and ensure compliance with Financial Regulations, HR policies and procedures, GDPR regulations and Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements

• Strong financial management and governance experience.
• Ability to provide financial support and advice to senior management.
• Experience in forecasting and budgeting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
