About The Land Development Agency

The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a key Government Commercial Semi-State Body that delivers social and affordable housing on State and other lands. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and the Government has committed to providing the LDA with €1.25 billion of equity which is drawn as required. The LDA has commenced construction on various state sourced lands and is currently working on direct delivery projects that can deliver over 5,000 homes. It is also delivering affordable housing by working with the private sector on an initiative called 'Project Tosaigh', which will yield a further 5,000 homes. Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.

The Role

This is a key position to provide high quality, administrative support to the Head of Investment/ Finance within the LDA. This is a great opportunity to work in a new agency, use your creativity and initiative to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes and build excellent relationships throughout the agency. This job would suit someone who likes a fast-paced dynamic role and takes ownership for their own workload with little direction required, continually reorganising and prioritising to ensure the Head of Investment and the Head of Finance get the best support possible.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  1. Provide administrative support to the Head of Investment/ Finance or wider teams.
  2. Prepare and collate documents, reports and packs for meetings, including Investment committees, EMT and Board meetings.
  3. From time to time the Senior Administrator may be requested to attend and take minutes at meetings.
  4. Ongoing prioritisation of tasks and workload ensuring deadlines are met and that the work is completed in a timely manner.
  5. Continuously looking for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Maintenance of sensitive and confidential information.
  7. Build up relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Responsible for diary management for the Head of Investment/ Finance.
  9. Other tasks as requested by the Head of Investment/ Finance.
  10. Ad hoc support to other departments as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  1. Third level qualification.
  2. A minimum of 5 years' experience working within a similar role within a similar organisation is essential for this role.
  3. Experience providing administrative support to a Senior Manager including management of a complex calendar would be an advantage.
  4. Must have the ability to prepare agendas and take minutes for management team meetings and manage and track follow up actions.
  5. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong organisational, planning, time management, project management, problem-solving, and anticipatory skills.
  6. Ability to execute in relatively ambiguous and complex situations, prioritizing and juggling multiple actions at once, work independently, be self-motivated and action oriented.
  7. Exercises sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  8. Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  9. Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude, maintain confidentiality, and be an effective team player.
  10. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel & Word.
