The Automation Engineer will lead in the execution of Masterplan, efficiency / improvement projects for the plant, from initial scoping of innovations/concepts through to CAPEX project implementation and execution. The position holder will execute and lead multiple digital factory and automation project initiatives to transform the daily ways of working throughout the manufacturing facility. The Automation Engineer will provide to the technical and operational teams a high level of automation, software and control knowledge and expertise, and apply skills to improve efficiency and performance within a high volume, highly automated FMCG environment. The Automation Engineer will have a natural understanding of manufacturing processes, be quick learner and confident to take on new challenges. Responsibilities: Responsible for implementation of site obsolescence strategy ensuring consistent standards in hardware and software are applied, and obsolescence risks are mitigated. Drive continuous improvement plans to ensure site remains current in automation and digital technologies to leverage business benefit and avoid significant obsolescence. Support problem solving and investigation activities for all automation issues. Develop and optimize the operation, maintenance and continuity procedures for automation systems. Provide automation support to Capital projects / Equipment engineering in terms of control systems and ensuring all equipment being purchased contains systems that support the overall automation strategy for the site. Responsible for maintaining cyber security and data integrity of all Automation systems. Provide technical expertise during regulatory audits. Ensure that GMP, Quality and EHS processes are adhered to in all aspects of the role. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of systems. Document design specifications and testing procedures. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering or related field. Experience with mechatronics design and development. Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
