Senior Automation Engineer Job In Limerick

Senior Automation Engineer required for 12-month contract position with medical device manufacturing client in Limerick.

Key responsibilities include developing machine design control systems, PLC and control software, and leading automation team to deliver robust technical solutions.

Job requirements include a bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and 5-6 years' experience working with automated control systems.

Strong PLC background in Allen Bradley Control Logix 5000, Allen Bradley Guard Logix, APT, Siemens S7, Elau, Pilz Safety PLCs, and Wonderware Intouch/Archestr A, Factory Talk View HMI software is essential.

Additional knowledge of Servo Motion Control, printer systems, vision systems, robotics, BCR, data analytics, and RFID systems would be beneficial.

Valid working visa for Ireland is required.

Job Description:

• Develop machine design control systems, including servo motion and high-speed device integration.
• Develop, test, and install PLC and control software in a highly automated, high volume 24/7 validated production environment.
• Develop User, Functional, and Detailed Design Specifications.
• Develop high quality PLC and HMI code from Functional and Detailed Design Specifications.
• Lead Automation team to deliver robust technical solutions as part of a project.
• Provide ideas and solutions for the improvement and development of control systems.
• Fault-find complex automation equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5-6 years' experience working with automated control systems as part of a machine design team.
