As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to identify and drive projects to deliver processes and improvement initiatives.

The Senior Business Analyst will drive initiatives for Optum Coordination of Benefits (COB), collaborating with teams across COB pre-pay, Data Mining Post-Pay COB/Recovery team and Issue Management for opportunity identification, capability assessment within Optum and externally to increase Optum COB Market share and improve process efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct end-to-end process reviews to analyze the process including controls, risks, and opportunities.
  • Process redesign activities to refine and simplify existing processes to drive efficiencies.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of new processes, systems, or analytics, to deliver additional medical cost savings or productivity efficiencies.
  • Collaborating with Growth and Exploratory team and partners to identify growth opportunities and performance enhancements within the COB domain.
  • Driving projects to delivery including conducting all needed research, problem-solving, and requirements-gathering activities with business and technical stakeholders to identify, collect, and document specific business requirements.
  • Communicating ongoing updates to all stakeholders to ensure understanding of and alignment with project status/changes.
  • Supporting ongoing monitoring and adjustment of project scope/timelines/dependencies.
  • Developing and/or contributing to training programs to support implementation of the solution.
  • Ensuring that identified solutions meet business requirements for all applicable stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in healthcare or financial services industry.
  • Business Analysis or project-focused experience including gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Experience in analysis and mapping of business processes, including the ability to translate business requirements to a technical audience.
  • Experience in analyzing large operational and/or financial data sets to identify and define actionable insights.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel, Power Point, SQL.
  • Strong presentation skills and professional communication style (verbal and written), including Stakeholder management.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to deliver quality results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Claims, COB (Coordination of Benefits), Data Mining or Appeals & Grievances.
  • Experience of project implementation considering global operations teams and related implications.
  • Project Management or Operational Excellence Experience, including Structured Problem Solving, Green / Black belt qualifications.
