Job Description

Our client is a renowned company specializing in manufacturing and distributing innovative products across various industries. As a Senior Buyer based in Galway, you'll play a crucial role in procurement, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential for company operations. Responsibilities include developing procurement strategies, planner management, supplier management, and fostering strong vendor relationships. Key Responsibilities: * Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives to optimize costs, quality, and efficiency. * Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and capacity. Maintain relationships and seek new partnerships to enhance the supplier base. * Planner Management: Lead and manage a procurement team, providing guidance and support for effective execution of plans and activities. * Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and quality assurance. * Purchase Order Management: Oversee creation and management of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance. * Inventory Management: Collaborate to forecast demand, manage inventory, and optimize stock availability. * Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain. * Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations, industry standards, and company policies. * Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with departments to align procurement with business objectives. * Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs to monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions. Qualifications and Skills: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CIPS) is a plus. * Proven procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution, with at least 5 years in a senior buyer role. * Strong negotiation skills and analytical abilities. * Proficiency in procurement software, Microsoft Office Suite, and communication skills. * Leadership abilities and knowledge of procurement regulations and compliance.
