As a Senior Buyer, you will play a critical role in sourcing high-quality materials and services to support the company's manufacturing operations. **Job Description:** You will be responsible for obtaining services, materials, components, and equipment to support the company's manufacturing operations. As a Senior Buyer, you will: * Obtain quotations, examine bids, and make awards to ensure best value for the company * Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate * Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure best quality at best value * Evaluate vendor reliability and coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services * Ensure that items and services purchased are of high quality, on time, and at the lowest total price **Key Responsibilities:** * Interact with suppliers and providers to negotiate activities involved with procuring materials and services * Assist internal and external customers by answering questions and assisting in solving their problems * Implement cost-saving ideas to obtain maximum efficiencies of company funds * Conduct supplier audits to evaluate their capabilities * Identify invoice discrepancies and investigate non-conforming materials * Maintain manual and/or computerized records of activities * Provide written data to departments and suppliers to convey company needs and requirements * Process purchase requests and lead significant cost-saving initiatives **Requirements:** * National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline and 4+ years of related work experience * Working knowledge and application of business concepts, procedures, and practices * Ability to work on problems of moderate scope and exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices * Cultivate a wide range of internal networks and develop an external network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks * Plan, organize, and prioritize own daily work routine to meet established schedule * Exercise authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action
