Senior Civil Engineer position available in Dublin, working on large commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

Oradeo Recruitment is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a main building contractor in the Dublin area on large commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will gain exposure to prestigious projects on large building/construction sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning and design stages of civil engineering projects
  • Perform due diligence on the impact and feasibility of new construction sites
  • Oversee all project stages from preliminary layouts to final engineering designs
  • Survey new construction sites and assess existing structures for upgrades
  • Design and recommend improvements to CAD software drawings and schematics
  • Perform cost estimations and prepare project budgets
  • Prepare work schedules and allocate resources, as well as supervise junior engineers, construction managers, workers, technicians, and contractors
  • Ensure that civil engineering projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Inspect completed projects for compliance with industry codes, specifications, and safety standards
  • Document processes and present project progress updates to senior managers and clients

Necessary Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  • Licensed and certified civil engineer
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a senior civil engineer on similar projects
  • Proficiency in civil engineering project management software, such as Civil 3D and City Engine, as well as CAD
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering and construction specifications, standards, and codes
  • Great leadership, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Superb time-management and organisational abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
