Job Description

My Dublin based client is recruiting for a Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS) to join the team on a permanent basis. This is a is a pivotal role in the organization, managing infrastructure, database management, overseeing infrastructure creation. This role will be working on a hybrid model. Job Responsibilities You will design, deploy, manage scalable, highly available, & fault-tolerant systems on AWS. You will utilize AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, & Lambda. You will implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub actions and pipelines. You will monitor and optimize AWS resources and costs using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Cost Management tools. Oracle Database Management Perform database tuning, optimization, and maintenance to ensure high performance and availability. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies. Perform database migrations and upgrades. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Develop and maintain IaC scripts using tools like Ansible/Terraform. Ensure infrastructure configurations are version-controlled and automated. Collaborate with development teams to define infrastructure requirements and implement solutions. Implement and manage security best practices for both AWS and Oracle environments. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Experience in identity and access management standards (IAM) such as SAML, OAuth, JWT, and SCIM. Work closely with development and support teams to ensure smooth operations and troubleshoot issues. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Document processes, procedures, and systems for internal use. Understand networking protocols and standards, as well as be fluent in subnets, routing, VPN, and DNS management. Experience Required A min of 5 years experience in product development and/or database administration. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools e.g., Docker, Kubernetes Knowledge of other cloud platforms e.g., Azure, GCP Experience with other database platforms e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB Strong capabilities in scripting languages e.g., Python, bash, etc.. Essential and Desirable Skills A min of 5 years experience in product development and/or database administration. Educational Requirements Bachelors Degree or higher in software engineering or a related field.
