• Job Requirements
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Completion of Coding Course
  • Experience
    • 3 years of Coder experience
  • Skills
    • Expert knowledge in ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG and PCS classification systems
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clinical staff
    • Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management
    • Demonstrates competency with the use of computers and various computer programs
    • Visual acuity necessary to read and decipher handwriting and electronic documentation
    • Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • One of the following core credentials: Inpatient Coding- RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CIC, Outpatient Coding- CPC, CIC, COC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS or CRC, Profee Coding- CPC, CIC, COC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS or CRC
    • Additional Approved Specialty Certification: CANPC, CCC, CCVTC, CEDC, CGIC, CGSC, CHONC, CIRCC, COBGC, COSC, CPEDC, CUC
