In this role, you'll play a leading role in shaping the future of our Compliance practices, partnering closely with senior stakeholders. This new and exciting role is critical in the planned expansion of our business.

You'll provide strong management direction for the Compliance function, with a specific focus on Environmental and Social (ESG) regulations. This involves developing, embedding, and enhancing policy and procedural changes to ensure compliance across all areas of responsibility.

As part of the Primark Risk and Compliance Team, you'll join a fast-paced, commercial environment with the opportunity to work with key stakeholders within the Primark business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with different people across various skill sets to support the development, ongoing management, and reporting on the annual programme plan for key compliance initiatives.
  • Identifying, tracking, and mitigating project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Supporting the execution of compliance-related activities, including statutory risk assessments, regulatory requests for information, designing and testing controls, and issue management.
  • Advising on the compliance requirements and operationalisation of controls for relevant environmental and social regulations and directives.
  • Improving and maintaining the compliance monitoring program, ensuring compliance issues are dealt with in a timely fashion.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience working in a compliance/regulatory/risk/second-line function, with a focus on ESG.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying legislation or regulation within a company context and partnering with the first line to design and implement controls.
  • Knowledge and a history of conducting root cause analysis, investigations, and/or auditing.
  • Previous experience in supporting work in relation to regulators, external auditors, and inspectors.
