Senior Construction Project Manager, EMEA Data Center Construction

Lead the management of General Contractors on one or more data center construction sites, overseeing all disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, controls, and commissioning.

About the Role

  • Manage General Contractors on one or more data center construction sites
  • Inspect and review construction work, including site safety and project quality control
  • Undertake strategic and tactical commercial management of construction contracts
  • Support negotiations with general contractors and internal procurement partners
  • Record and report key construction/commercial metrics
  • Lead analysis and resolution of claims and major variations
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to junior team members

The Data Center Construction team is responsible for building and supporting the operations of Amazon Data Centers. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in construction site management
  • 3+ years responsibility for management of construction contracts and contractors
  • 3+ years' experience in construction of and interface with live operational/mission critical facilities
  • Ability to operate in a working environment conducted through English
  • Demonstrated experience writing in a data-driven persuasive way

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in construction site management, leading the management of a construction contract package
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of best practice industry safety, quality standards, and local safety regulations
  • Understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering principles
