Senior Consultant – Risk and Advisory Services (BDO Ireland)Department: Risk and Advisory ServicesEmployment Type: PermanentLocation: DublinDescriptionBDO Ireland is seeking a broad-minded Senior Consultant to join our successful and expanding Risk and Advisory Services (RAS) Department.Our Advisory team provides a wide variety of services that deliver value-led advice and outcomes. They have an in-depth knowledge of business, industry sectors, and markets and understand the constantly changing risks and opportunities at the heart of our clients’ affairs. The team works across strategy, operations, and improvement as well as at a transactional and defined project level. From technology to risk advisory, they’re experts in following through on top-level instructions and resolving the finer details – all in one straightforward package.This role will involve elements of providing risk and assurance services to Ireland's leading SMEs, multi-nationals, and public sector organisations.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivering audits and related projects across our commercial and not-for-profit client base.Running audits from planning to final reporting, working directly with our clients under Manager supervision.Executing a wide variety of audit tests/procedures and accurately interpreting results, whilst ensuring the work is competently and efficiently performed in accordance with professional standards.Planning, executing, and reporting on a range of Internal Audit assignments, both operational and financial.Managing/Evaluating processes, systems, and controls, detailing any remedial action required where gaps or weaknesses are identified.Leading/Carrying out financial control reviews, including detailed testing and evaluation of financial control processes.Managing/Reviewing systems and processes with respect to leading practice, as well as BDO’s own insights and knowledge, in order to advise clients on ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Overseeing/Assessing clients’ compliance with relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance in order to provide assurance that they are in a position to meet their requirements.Drafting Internal Audit terms of reference and developing Internal Audit work programmes.Overseeing/Producing excellent working papers.Drafting Internal Audit reports and obtaining Management responses prior to their finalisation.Assisting Internal Audit Managers and other team members to liaise with clients.Managing/Performing process and system evaluations, and controls testing.Learning our various technology tools and systems and providing support for activities such as risk workshops and client meetings.Managing/Reviewing the work of more junior team members as well as mentoring.Skills Knowledge and Expertise3+ years relevant experience as part of an Internal Audit and/or Risk Management department or an Audit department where you have gained experience in internal controls, within industry or a professional services firm.Third level qualification in a related field.Qualified Accountant (preferable).Proficient in MS Office and flow charting software.Strong technical knowledge.Strong attention to detail.Strong communication skills and client service ethos.Adaptable to change.Commercially minded.Ambitious by nature.BenefitsIncomeCompetitive salary.Travel Green Allowance Voucher.Employee referral scheme – “refer a friend”.Pension scheme.HealthMini Health Assessments.Digi Doc.Group health schemes.Life Assurance.Cycle to Work scheme.CSR, Sports and Social and Wellness Committees.On site gym.CareerCareer Progression.BDO Learning & Development programme.Coverage of professional subscription.LeaveTogether Anywhere Leave.Annual Leave Purchase Scheme.Adoptive Leave Increase.LocationFree breakfast every day.State of the art office.Central location.On site café.On site complementary barista. #J-18808-Ljbffr
