Seeking a skilled privacy attorney to provide essential privacy advice to key stakeholders on a wide range of privacy issues, including data use, data transfers, and other related topics. Hub Spot is looking for a business-oriented and skilled privacy attorney to join our Data Protection and Security practice on the Legal & Compliance Team. **Key Responsibilities:** • Use in-depth knowledge of privacy laws and regulations to advise on and negotiate data privacy and cybersecurity provisions in various commercial contracts. • Work closely and partner with cross-functional teams on privacy-related queries that drive company revenue. • Align data protection strategies with legal requirements and industry standards. • Understand the legal support needs of our Sales and Customer Success team, and help drive customer and business-centric improvements and enablement related to data privacy and security. • Develop contracting process efficiencies and frameworks that help solve for the customer and company objectives, while managing privacy and cybersecurity risk. • Support Hub Spot and our customers across the globe with deep subject matter expertise in key global privacy and cybersecurity regulations. • Provide ad hoc support on various legal matters related to the privacy and cybersecurity practice on the Hub Spot Legal & Compliance Team. • Work with other business teams on a variety of legal processes, risks, and opportunities as needed. **Requirements:** • Qualified to practice law in the U.S., EU, or UK. • Experience drafting and negotiating privacy and data protection terms in commercial contracts, with broader commercial contract negotiation experience as in-house counsel as a plus. • Applicable legal experience, including supporting and advising businesses on privacy and data protection-related issues, ideally at both a law firm and a fast-paced tech company. • Experience with HIPAA, GLBA, DORA, and other industry-specific regulations both in the US and EMEA. • Enthusiastic about partnering with the business to understand goals and achieve business objectives. • Ability to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team. • Demonstrated ability to remain current on evolving global laws. • Develop strong relationships based on trust with team members. • Deep knowledge of global privacy and data protection laws and regulations. • Business-oriented, solution-oriented, proactive, well-organized, and appreciate autonomy. • CIPP certification, or interested in pursuing a CIPP certification (and/or other security and data privacy-related training courses). • Strong communication skills, especially via internal wiki, Slack, and Zoom. **About Hub Spot:** Hub Spot is a leading customer relationship management (CRM) platform that provides software and support to help businesses grow better.
