Hub Spot Seeks Business-Oriented Privacy Attorney
Hub Spot is looking for a skilled privacy attorney to join its Data Protection and Security practice on the Legal & Compliance Team.
About the Role
- Provide essential privacy advice to key stakeholders across the business on a wide range of privacy issues.
- Support customer queries, transactions, and negotiations related to privacy, cybersecurity, data use, data transfers, and other topics.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on privacy-related queries that drive company revenue.
- Align data protection strategies with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Develop contracting process efficiencies and frameworks that help solve for customer and company objectives.
- Support Hub Spot and its customers across the globe with deep subject matter expertise in key global privacy and cybersecurity regulations.
Requirements
- Qualified to practice law in the U.S., EU, or UK.
- Experience drafting and negotiating privacy and data protection terms in commercial contracts.
- Applicable legal experience, including supporting and advising businesses on privacy and data protection related issues.
- Experience with HIPAA, GLBA, DORA, and other industry-specific regulations.
- Business-oriented, solution-oriented, proactive, well-organized, and appreciate autonomy.
- Strong communication skills, especially via internal wiki, Slack, and Zoom.
- Excellent business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while also thinking strategically and providing practical advice.
