We are seeking a senior data enginer for a 2 year fixed term contract in either Cork or Dublin The Data and Analytics function will provide Data platforms and engineering capabilities to facilitate the timely capture, transformation and presentation of Data to drive faster and greater insight to solve business problems and to identify and exploit business opportunities. The scope of this role is to perform Data Engineering tasks to ensure Data is ingested and transformed into a consumable format for the business and its retail partners in a timely manner. It is also requires to ensure our Data stack is highly available and scalable. Key Activities Data Engineering Ingest new Data Sets into Data Platforms Transform data from its raw format into a business consumable format Design data models and dimensional models to represent data in a consumable format Ensure data is processed in a timely fashion and is robust in its operational orchestration 3rd line escalation point for Data processing issuesAnalysis, architecture, design and development of data solutions Implement standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modelling, cleansing, enriching, transforming, moving, storing, searching and delivering data within the business. Deliver high quality data pipelines, transformation processes and data models for driving analytic solutions. Research and maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and solutions to solve business problems. Work closely with business and technical counterparts to drive the delivery of data initiatives. Drive the effort to unlock value from our data. Work closely with the Data PM and Data Platform teams to ensure engineering deliverables are in line with end-to-end solution Mentor more junior Data Engineers Development of the Data & Analytics Community Engage with fellow team members to share lessons learned, useful information and experience Engage in training and learning & development activities Participate in team events Engage in continuous learning and improvement across the team Essential Criteria 3rd level qualification Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or related field. Min. of 4 years of Data engineering experienceMin. 4 years of solution development and technology experience Data architecture and design skills Expert knowledge of SQL Expert knowledge of relational databases Experience building Cloud PaaS scalable Data solutions with Batch and Streaming technologies, preferably in Azure. Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF) etc Strong knowledge of a variety of data engines Excellent communicator, comfortable managing the expectations of customers as well as senior management and internal technical staff Strategic and analytical thinker Contributes, promotes, and adopts new ideas and approaches Strong teamwork and leadership skills, an ability to create, communicate and support a common vision and direction Excellent planning and organization skills, with the ability to confidently prioritise tasks & guide teams Ability to build and foster strong, trusted working relationships Desirable Criteria Keen interest in the business environment and how data solutions can add value to the business Commitment to personal and professional development Hands on agile team experience Project management Desirable qualifications: Azure certifications, Relational Databases/ T-SQL/U-SQL, Databricks/Python/Scala, DataLake Solution architecture Musgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
