Senior Data Scientist - 18 Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced senior AI Scientist with a focus on optimisation to drive the design, development, and deployment of AI-based solutions for supply chain decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and deployment of AI-driven optimisation solutions for supply chain decision-making.
• Apply techniques such as linear programming, mixed-integer programming, and constraint programming to create scalable solutions.
• Customise commercial optimisation algorithms to address unique business challenges.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineers to optimise workflows.
• Mentor junior team members in optimisation and foster a culture of innovation.
• Translate complex business objectives into mathematical models.
• Proactively address bottlenecks in optimisation to balance performance, cost, and efficiency.
• Manage stakeholder expectations in ambiguous environments while driving impactful solutions.

Requirements:

• PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience applying AI and optimisation techniques to solve complex industry problems.
• Expertise in optimisation methods such as constraint programming, linear programming, mixed-integer programming, heuristics, and meta-heuristics.
• Proficiency with solver libraries, and related (e.g., CP solvers, Gurobi, CPLEX, or custom solvers).
• Proven experience leading optimisation projects from conception to deployment.
• Strong mentoring skills, fostering team proficiency in optimisation methodologies.
• Ability to navigate complex environments and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of delivering efficiency-driven solutions.
