We also assist millions of people to realize their financial goals and help them save time and money.Job DescriptionThe mission of Experian's Global Security Office (EGSO) Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) team is to monitor Experian's sensitive data, safeguarding against cyber events that compromise the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of that data. As the Senior Database Security Engineer, you will focus on data identification and monitoring both in cloud and on-premise data repositories. You will establish the tactical roadmap (aligned to the tower strategy) that is focused on implementing future state security controls following these guiding principles: Agile, Available, Simple to Implement, and Automated.This role reports to the Director of Information Security.You'll have the opportunity to:Provide expertise on security tool capabilities and configuration adjustments, when needed, to implement controls such as identifying restricted data, implementing database monitoring, performing active threat analytics, database misconfiguration, and database entitlement reporting during security incidents or blocking future security attacks.Collaborate with the Manager to identify capability gaps and operational inconsistencies within the Data Protection controls environment and develop a plan to address them through product enhancement, reconfiguration, upgrades, and automation of processes.Build, manage, and maintain the automated reporting dashboards system.Collaborate with Customers and other technology teams to ensure operational requests and incidents are resolved within defined SLAs.Leverage tooling to monitor and optimize the performance of the wider data protection operations team.Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical Data Protection control issues.Build, manage, and maintain the intake process for requests on ServiceNow or a suitable tool.Examine concepts, work on Proof of Concepts, develop Minimum Viable Product, and scale the product, including documentation and process development.Ensure new builds/integrations/agent implementation follow operational readiness processes, are documented, health/performance KPIs are defined and in place, and monitoring and alerting are in place before promoting to production.Document business cases, POCs, procedures, results of POCs, test cases, integration guides, and runbooks to operationalize database activity monitoring and data discovery for Experian.Mentor team members to promote growth.Provide on-call support.QualificationsWhat your background looks like:BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent 8+ years of job experience in IT and 5+ years' of experience in security.2+ years' of experience in database administration.In-depth knowledge of operating systems: Windows, Linux/Unix, Mainframe, and shell scripts.Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Oracle, Azure, and GCP).Experience with data activity monitoring tools (IBM Guardium, Imperva).Knowledge of network technologies and ServiceNow.Knowledge of SIEM tools and Dashboard creation tools (Power BI).Experience with Splunk and Exabeam tools.Experience with Data Governance tools (IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog, Data360, ASG).Knowledge of DSPM tools.Demonstrate progress toward obtaining a security-specific (or specific security product certification), or maintain a current certification (DAM tools, or CISSP, CISM, and CCSP).Additional InformationExperian's culture and people are important differentiators.
