Senior Development Chemist role involves providing chemistry expertise and technical support for process development in laboratory, pilot plant, and manufacturing plants.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support for new product introduction from route development to implementation on plant scale.
- Supporting development projects in the lab, including route scouting, route development, proof of concept, and process robustness studies.
- Proposing modifications to synthetic routes to solve complex chemistry issues for laboratory and plant processes.
- Undertaking compound synthesis to required quality standards, including acquiring and interpreting analytical data.
- Developing and expanding scientific, technical, and drug discovery knowledge through literature review, conferences, and training.
- Authoring or contributing to regulatory submissions, patents, and internal documentation.
- Communicating with clients and teams to ensure project transfer from plant to lab.
Requirements:
- Master's or Ph.D. in chemistry with significant Organic Chemistry component.
- Experience in synthetic/organic chemistry and leading development projects.
- Proficient knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry, particularly in route development and optimization.
- Ability to think critically and innovatively, with willingness to challenge.
- Strong analytical capability and ability to carry out large-scale reactions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues.
- Experience in supporting plant processes and participating in PPI initiatives.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
