Winthrop is a dedicated Data Centre Construction company providing turnkey solutions to our clients, headquartered in Dublin and delivering throughout Europe. As an engineering focused organisation, Winthrop has grown to become one of the leading and most trusted companies in our sector. We are currently constructing multiple Turnkey Data Centre Projects in 7 different European Countries, equating to over 430MW of IT load in flight.We have requirement for a Senior Electrical Engineer based at our headquarters in Ballymount, Dublin 22.Responsibilities The candidate will have in depth knowledge of resilience and redundancy applications in mission critical electrical services as well as extensive experience in resilient power distribution networks. The role encompasses establishing and setting out the initial design concepts of the data centre layout and backbones, based on the end-users’ statement of requirements. A strong analytical ability to assess the extent of the initial information provided and to identify information gaps is essential as well as effective communication skills. Although electrically based, the position will require a working knowledge of mechanical services as they apply to mission critical facilities. A sound appreciation of associated costs and value engineering will be required to refine the initial concepts, in tandem with our Estimation team, to arrive at an optimum proposal for the consideration of the client. Experience is required in teamwork with a multidisciplinary design team to execute and complete the agreed designs established at the concept stage. The role will include provision of engineering advice and assessment to our teams across all our sites to resolve technical challenges that may arise during procurement, construction, and commissioning and the overseeing and/or generation of root cause analysis reports where errors/omissions have been identified. Relevant Electrical Qualification essential eg. Bachelor’s degree in engineeringThe ideal candidate will be professionally qualified, preferably to Chartered Engineer status and with a minimum of 8 to 10 years design experience in all facets of electrical services to buildings with at least 5/7 years in a senior management role.Data Centre experience is advantageousExcellent organizational, communication and time management skillsProficiency in the use of MS Word & Excel is requiredWinthrop Technologies is an equal opportunities employer #J-18808-Ljbffr
