Job Description
Lead Electrical Design Engineer required to manage full Electrical Design on projects of all sizes, providing quality control and project cost control.
Design Build Search are working with a progressive consulting engineering firm who is recognized throughout the industry as being at the forefront of sustainable design.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing full Electrical Design on projects of all sizes, providing quality control for Electrical Engineering projects, and managing project cost control.
Other key responsibilities include managing both project teams and cross-functional teams within the organisational structure, and liaising and collaborating with other EDC offices for all matters as appropriate.
Requirements include a minimum Degree level in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years Building Services Consultancy Design experience, and proven experience in delivering detailed designs through the full design cycle.
Desirable skills include expert user of Amtech, Relux/Dialux, BIM experience, and Chartership.
Key skills and knowledge include a thorough understanding of the theoretical and practical application of their engineering discipline, and a strong understanding of the other disciplines offered by the company.
Other key skills and knowledge include expert knowledge and experience in the following Electrical design areas: Lighting & Emergency Lighting, Small Power and Data, Fire alarms, CCTV & Intruder Alarms, MV/LV Power Distribution, Containment and BMS.
Requirements also include the ability to work on several projects simultaneously, prioritise and plan work, and demonstrate a good understanding of other building disciplines in the design and installation of buildings.
Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills are also required, as well as the ability to lead projects internally and externally and be responsible for project performances.
Leadership qualities, ability to make prompt, disciplined project decisions, and commercial awareness are also essential.
