Senior Engineer (Drainage) sought for a dynamic multi-disciplinary engineering practice with expertise in drainage design and project delivery.
Fehily Timoney and Company, a leading Irish-owned consultant, is seeking a Chartered Engineer with experience in drainage networks for highway, active travel, and urban development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of drainage designs for infrastructure projects, including highways, active travel, greenway, renewable energy, and urban development projects.
- Design of drainage networks, ponds, attenuation, and SuDs.
- Lead hydrological and flood risk assessments for various sites.
- Working knowledge of modelling software such as Info Drainage, Micro Drainage, Causeway Flow, and/or Autodesk Storm and Sewer.
- Planning and managing CAD documentation, working closely with CAD Technicians.
- Working closely with other Engineers, Ecologists, and Scientists within the Company.
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff within the Infrastructure sector.
- Preparation of technical reports, tender, and proposal documents.
- Attend onsite meetings with clients and other professionals.
- Ensure projects are delivered to agreed timescales, quality, and costs.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and Management Systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 7 years post-graduate experience in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status, or in the process of achieving Chartered status.
- Experienced in the design of highway drainage systems, including SuDs.
- Experience in Nature-Based Solutions is a plus.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
- Working knowledge of civil design software.
- Experience working in a Consulting Engineering or similar company.
- Excellent communication, management, analytical, and organisational skills required.
- Experience working and coordinating with technical specialists and engineers.
- Efficient work methods, functioning both as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Experience organizing and delivering complex tasks involving multiple parties within a short timeframe.
- The ability to adopt and work to new procedures and systems quickly.
- Full Driver's Licence.
