Senior Site Engineer Location: Portlaoise, Co. Key Responsibilities Supervise setting out engineers and manage day-to-day site operations. Oversee Rebar and Concrete call-offs, mix design approvals, and ensure compliance with design specifications. Review and check shuttering, steel, and other dimensions prior to concrete pours. Ensure that all materials and work performed are per specifications, liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, and the workforce. Check architectural and structural drawings to verify accuracy and coordination. Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and site-related problems. Plan and organise plant and site facilities efficiently to meet project deadlines. Manage site safety checks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Handle quality management and BCAR (Building Control Amendment Regulation) coordination. Maintain site records and ensure efficient communication between all team members. Order materials for site activities and manage subcontractor performance. Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. 2+ years of experience as a Senior Site Engineer, ideally with a Main Contractor. Strong setting out experience with tools like AutoCAD, Total Station, GPS, etc. Experience in building and structural projects. Knowledge of construction procedures, methods, and the latest building regulations and certifications. Strong communication and team management skills. Proven experience in managing site health, safety, and environmental procedures. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and surveying tools. A methodical, detail-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks and projects.
