Job Description
Senior Estimator role in Canada for a leading Main Contractor, managing a team to estimate and cost large-scale projects, with a salary of $150,000 to $180,000 CAD and relocation support.
Manage a team of Estimators to ensure accurate estimation and subcontractor costing for large-scale projects ($200+ Million CAD), from budgeting to contract planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Analyse project documents and subcontractor needs
- Identify risks and opportunities for competitiveness
- Collaborate with clients or consultants as needed
- Create project schedules for pricing
- Lead estimate reviews and tender submissions
- Assist in post-tender submissions and negotiations
- Support project development and preconstruction planning
- Seek opportunities through industry contacts
- Maintain databases for future reference
- Generate conceptual estimates using historical data
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- 10 Years+ in Construction Estimation/Quantity Surveying for a Main Contractor in Ireland/UK
- Experience working on project tenders with values €150 Million+
- Experience with estimating techniques, tendering process and negotiating contracts
- Ability to read and interpret construction related documents including plans, specifications, and other technical material
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- IT Skills: MS Office and Estimating/Quantity Surveying software packages
