Job Description

Senior Estimator role in Canada for a leading Main Contractor, managing a team to estimate and cost large-scale projects, with a salary of $150,000 to $180,000 CAD and relocation support.

Manage a team of Estimators to ensure accurate estimation and subcontractor costing for large-scale projects ($200+ Million CAD), from budgeting to contract planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Analyse project documents and subcontractor needs
  • Identify risks and opportunities for competitiveness
  • Collaborate with clients or consultants as needed
  • Create project schedules for pricing
  • Lead estimate reviews and tender submissions
  • Assist in post-tender submissions and negotiations
  • Support project development and preconstruction planning
  • Seek opportunities through industry contacts
  • Maintain databases for future reference
  • Generate conceptual estimates using historical data

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • 10 Years+ in Construction Estimation/Quantity Surveying for a Main Contractor in Ireland/UK
  • Experience working on project tenders with values €150 Million+
  • Experience with estimating techniques, tendering process and negotiating contracts
  • Ability to read and interpret construction related documents including plans, specifications, and other technical material
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • IT Skills: MS Office and Estimating/Quantity Surveying software packages
