Job Summary:
The Commercial Estimator will maintain a pipeline of potential projects, negotiate prices with suppliers, and prepare budget forecasts to ensure commercially favourable rates are agreed with all stakeholders.
- Maintain a weekly log of tender enquiries and potential projects that fit with the company's requirements.
- Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quotations are competitive.
- Prepare budget forecasts based on costs at tender stage.
- Carry out value engineering exercises and make cost saving proposals to stakeholders.
- Maintain close communication with clients, following up on quotations and the status of each project quoted.
- Represent the commercial department during the pre-construction phase of projects, ensuring budgets are in place and commercially favourable rates are agreed with all suppliers.
- Set an example of the company's professional image at all levels of contact and ensure similar conduct from subcontractors and supervisors.
The ideal candidate will have a construction-related college degree, at least 5 years of experience in estimating envelope contracts, and excellent IT and organisational skills.
