Job description The Senior Estimator (Electrical) will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical estimation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, industry standards, and best practices. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. * Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid estimates. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. * Review and interpret project plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and project risks. * Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure the best value and quality. * Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project scope reviews to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction methods to provide accurate and competitive estimates. * Prepare and present detailed cost reports and bid proposals to clients and senior management. * Assist in the development and maintenance of estimation standards, processes, and templates. * Mentor and train junior estimators and support staff as needed. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. * Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in a senior or lead role. * In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and industry standards. * Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite. * Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a high level of attention to detail. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders. * Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. * Knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations. * Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator, LEED) are a plus.
