Senior Estimator role for a Main Construction Contractor in Limerick, requiring 5+ years of experience in tendering projects up to €100m, with a salary of €70 K - €85 K.
Our client is a Main Construction Contractor with a strong presence in Munster and nationwide, delivering projects across various sectors including Restoration, Hospitality, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, and Pharmaceutical.
The successful candidate will work on their own initiative, producing detailed and competitive tender submissions, and will be responsible for presenting draft tender commercial appraisals for review and signoff by company directors.
Key responsibilities include reviewing tender documentation, managing tender bids, issuing material and trade enquiries, analysing supplier and subcontract packages, and identifying opportunities and deficits in tender documents.
Requirements include a third-level qualification in engineering, construction, quantity surveying, or a related field, 5+ years of experience in the Irish construction market, and good knowledge of subcontractors, construction outputs, and labour, plant, and material prices.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, ability to work as part of a team, and good computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel, are also essential.

Job Description
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for producing detailed and competitive tender submissions, working on their own initiative, and presenting draft tender commercial appraisals for review and signoff by company directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documentation and manage tender bids
- Issue material and trade enquiries to supply chain and obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Analyse, evaluate, and perform risk analysis on supplier and subcontract packages and check inclusions and exclusions
- Review tender enquiries and tender analysis for projects and advise of any concerns or value engineering details as appropriate
- Identify opportunities and deficits in the tender documents that provide commercial leverage
- Assist in compiling submissions of inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and program of works
- Liaise and report to senior management in relation to ongoing project submissions
Requirements
- Third-level qualification in engineering, construction, quantity surveying, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in the Irish construction market
- Good knowledge of subcontractors, construction outputs, and labour, plant, and material prices
- Good understanding of data analysis methods
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to manage tender documentation and punctual with reports
- Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel, and ideally some experience of estimating software, Causeway or similar
