Job Description

Join Amazon Web Services Finance team to drive financial support and innovation in cloud computing.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of enterprise, government and start-up businesses and organizations in over 190 countries around the world. Launched in 2006, AWS officially began offering developer customers access to web services - now widely known as cloud computing - based on Amazon's own back-end technology platform.

As a member of the AWS Finance team, you will be surrounded by talented individuals who believe that world-class support is critical to customer success. You will work with regional AWS leadership to:

  • Provide financial recommendations to regional AWS management and other internal stakeholders
  • Report weekly and monthly financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the financial planning process, including modeling, analyzing, and forecasting metrics that drive budgeting, forecasting, and business decisions
  • Be an integral member in the monthly financial close process and perform ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed
  • Analyze business results for key takeaways to achieve business objectives
  • Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes to support the fast-growing, global AWS business
  • Prepare detailed financial models for business segments, drive business initiatives, and identify, implement, and deliver key operational efficiencies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in a quantitative role
  • Experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field
  • Experience designing and implementing controls or experience performing audits over financial reporting environments
  • Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
  • Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes
  • Experience working with stakeholders
  • Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Solid business judgment and controllership focus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools and other financial systems
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, the ability to deal with ambiguity, and work successfully and effectively on cross-functional teams
