Job Description

A Senior Finance Manager is required to support the Head of Finance in the Capital Investments Division, responsible for providing financial expertise and leadership in a dynamic and complex environment. The role involves delivering financial reporting and management requirements, safeguarding assets and funding lines, and maintaining systems and controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering the business strategy to improve financial performance
  • Meeting financial reporting requirements, including a deep understanding of project reporting
  • Safeguarding assets and funding lines through adequate reporting and accountability
  • Managing timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Maintaining systems and controls for backup documentation and audit trail
  • Developing cross-functional teamwork and influencing skills
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Designing and developing a balance sheet for Capital Investments
  • Maintaining the established balance sheet
  • Reviewing, documenting, standardizing, and implementing capitalization policies
  • Designing and implementing balance sheet controls
  • Reviewing and implementing balance sheet reconciliations and improvements
  • Preparing reconciliations and investigating variances
  • Preparing balance sheet budget and forecasts
  • Engaging with project accountants and documenting capitalization policies
Essential requirements include:
  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 8+ years of post-qualification experience
  • Financial management experience, strong corporate governance aptitude, and commercial experience
  • Significant proven track record in financial reporting and managing tight reporting deadlines
  • Proven ability to lead a team and manage a balance sheet in line with accounting policies
  • Strong knowledge of FRS102 reporting requirements and good working knowledge of SAP applications
Desirable requirements include:
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver timely, accurate, and relevant financial data
  • Motivated and self-starting with initiative and a strong emphasis on delivery and execution
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and initiative
  • Practical financial control experience and a track record of management experience operating at a high level
  • Strong communication skills and project management experience
