Senior Finance Manager – Balance Sheet, Risks and Systems role at Capital Investment Division of Iarnród Éireann, responsible for delivering financial performance and managing financial reporting requirements.
As a key member of the Capital Investments Finance team, you will work closely with the Head of Finance to drive business strategy and improve financial performance.
The role requires strong commercial experience, a proven track record in delivering financial reporting requirements, and the ability to manage a balance sheet in line with accounting policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop a balance sheet for Capital Investments
- Maintain the established balance sheet
- Review, document, standardize and implement all capitalization policies
- Design and implement balance sheet controls
- Prepare reconciliations on a periodic basis and investigate all variances
- Prepare balance sheet budget and forecasts
- Engage with project accountants to understand capitalization policy for each project
- Maintain a register of all project bonds and monitor bond expiry
Essential requirements include:
- Qualified Accountant
- Minimum 8+ years post qualification experience
- Financial management experience and strong corporate governance aptitude
- Significant proven track record in financial reporting and managing tight reporting deadlines
- Proven ability to effectively lead a team
- Strong knowledge of FRS102 reporting requirements
- Good working knowledge of SAP applications

- Ability to meet tight deadlines and take end-to-end ownership for delivery
- Motivated and self-starter with initiative and strong emphasis on delivery and execution
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and initiative, strong sense of integrity and responsibility
- Practical financial control experience and track record of management experience
- Very strong communication skills
- Project Management experience
