Job Description

A Dublin citybasedcredit union is currently recruiting for the role of Senior Finance Manager.This is a full-time permanentposition. The Senior Finance Manager will operate at a strategic level within the credit union and report directly to the CEO. This role has responsibility for the financial soundness of the credit union and is accountable for the oversight and delivery of timely and accurate financial management reporting. The position is also responsible for oversight of the regulatory function of the credit union, ensuring its ongoing compliance. The Senior Finance Manager will support the development and execution of the Credit Unions Finance Strategy and ensure alignment with the overall objectives of the strategic plan. In addition, the Senior Finance Officer will implement effective processes and controls to accurately measure and report financial performance along with preparing and researching reports and products that will ensure the sustainability and continued success of the credit union. This role will advise the CEO and Board on the financial as well as regulatory areas that drive the strategy of the credit union. Skills, qualifications and competencies: Minimum of 5 years in a senior finance role within a credit union or similar financial institution. Qualified Accountant with membership in a recognised accounting body, with a strong command of accounting standards and best practices. Ability to work as part of a team that is flexible, innovative and forward looking. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of managing change and influencing stakeholders. Demonstrable experience in financial analysis, modelling, strategic planning and budgeting with excellent presentation and reporting abilities. Strong understanding of credit union regulations and credit union ethos is an advantage. A Central Bank Minimum Competency Qualification, e.g., QFA and/or other suitable qualification in financial services, credit unions, management, business and possibly others such as IT, accountancy, law, finance, risk, compliance is desirable. Knowledge of managing regulatory compliance within a financial environment, including AML, risk and data protection frameworks is an advantage. This role is subject to Central Bank Fitness & Probity Regime Assessment. The successful candidate will also be accountable for ensuring that the relevant Individual Accountability Framework responsibilities are met in line with regulatory requirements.
