Job Description

Senior Financial Accountant role requires a qualified professional with 4+ years PQE to lead financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliation, regulatory compliance, and team supervision.

A leading Technology Organisation with HQ in Dublin and operations across Europe is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and review periodic management accounts and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and quality information.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Review and supervise reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure ongoing vigilance around control environment.
  • Mentor, supervise and develop junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Preparing and analysing monthly reporting and compiling of finance presentation for Board reporting.
  • Managing the preparation of statutory accounts and involvement in preparation of tax returns.
  • Overseeing the implementation of new accounting standards and policies.
  • Conducting variance analysis and identifying trends in discussion with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant with 4+ years PQE.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, financial modelling, and experience with Power BI.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing financial regulations and business environments.
