Financial Accountant role in Cork, Ireland, for a high-growth Amazon business, requiring expertise in statutory reporting, accounting frameworks, and process improvement.
Amazon Ireland Support Services Limited is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the expanding Statutory Reporting team in Cork.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting professional with a strong technical accounting acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a challenging workplace environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of high-quality financial statements across various accounting frameworks
- Preparation of statutory trial balances, including management of local GAAP adjustments
- Supporting external audit process
- Driving process improvement and automation to reduce manual effort
- Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to conclude on accounting treatment of new product launches, projects, and transactions
- Business partnering with other Amazon teams, including Tax, Public Relations, Transfer Pricing, and Corporate Legal
- Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardization
- Supporting the on-boarding of new entities and activities, ensuring all statutory requirements are identified and supported
- Developing in-depth knowledge of the AWS and Kuiper businesses
- Oversight and submission of various statistical returns across EMEA geographies
- Managing relationship with external service providers
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with financial reporting and audit, preferably gained within a Big Four firm
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English
- Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance
- ACCA, ACA, CPA qualification
- Proficient Microsoft Excel user
