Senior Frontend Engineer sought to build and maintain cutting-edge platform using software engineering best practices and industry standards.

North, a dynamic technology company, is dedicated to reshaping financial risk and compliance management.

We are looking for a product-minded Frontend Engineer to join our talented team at the Fraud & Risk Management Research & Development Centre of Excellence in Limerick.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write clean, reusable, readable code with appropriate tests.
  • Execute code reviews and peer review processes to ensure code quality and security practices.
  • Triage product and systems issues, including debugging and monitoring.
  • Research new technologies and evaluate their feasibility.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects, UI/UX designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Utilize prototyping design tools to access and work directly with design assets.
  • Produce and contribute to high-quality documentation.
  • Participate in conversations and workshops with stakeholders to understand requirements and identify solutions and opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in application development.
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline, or relevant experience.
  • Experience working in the financial services, financial technology, and risk management industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of a selected programming language (e.g. Javascript/Typescript, HTML, CSS, and SQL).
  • Experience working with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React JS, Next JS).
  • Experience working with state management libraries (e.g. Redux, Flux).
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and familiarity with Graph QL.
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g. Postgre SQL, My SQL) and knowledge of No SQL databases (e.g. Mongo DB, Dynamo DB).
  • Knowledge of micro frontend development patterns.
  • Knowledge of UX best practices.
  • Experience implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
